Dorkitude

The level of dorkitude I reach without trying astounds even me. I wrote this little piece of dialogue on National Backward Day. How are we to celebrate such a day? Act backward? I can do that.
When I wrote this sentence, I realized how easily my own attitudes merge with those of my characters. I feel backward most of the time, and try to hide it from the world the best I can. But it’s DO-OVER week! So, to celebrate Backward Day, I’m embracing the awkwardness in myself and in the character I forced my awkwardness upon. Backward people unite! It’s our day!
MEMORY PROMPT: Have you ever felt awkward? Jot down the experience in a show of solidarity.
