Day 84: I began the day by wishing our Jerusalem friends around the world a Happy Palm Sunday for my work. And now, I’d like tell each of you, too! Thousands of people from around the world travel to Jerusalem for Holy Week, which begins today with Palm Sunday. Today we celebrate the Triumphal Entry of Christ into the city. He entered through Lion’s Gate on a donkey, where his followers lined the way with palm fronds.
Now, people re-enact the day. You can buy a palm frond or two and find a place against the ancient stone walls and imagine what it may have been like to see The Savior pass by. Every time I read the account in the Bible, I am freshly stunned that only five days later, he took the same route, yet heavily burdened by a cross and a crown of thorns.
