Day 83

Updated: Apr 18, 2018

What Might You Be? We know what we are, but know not what we may be. Shakespeare

Day 83: In typical Smatterday fashion, we’ve been running errands today, and tucked between the oil change and the grocery store, we made a stop at Costco. It wasn’t our usual stop at Costco. It was to the Photo Center to pick up some canvas prints we ordered - copies of some of my mother-in-law’s beautiful oil paintings. They actually look amazing reproduced on canvas. She started painting with oil in her forties, and then worked her way into watercolors. She was an amazing artist, and now that she’s joined our loved ones on the Heavenly side of the family, it is comforting to surround ourselves with the beauty she created. She had seven children, and when her art collection was divided, each child took 18 paintings home. That’s more than 120 paintings! And that’s not all of them! Many already reside in our homes and in the homes of art appreciators. What a thing of beauty she has left behind to color this sometimes dreary world.

The moral to my Costco story is this: if you have a desire to start something new, but you think you’re too old? You’re wrong! Do it! Try it!

In Hamlet, Shakespeare wrote “We know what we are, but know not what we may be". What might you be? #MomsCompanyTowels #WhatMightYouBe #WeMissYouMom
