Day 48: It is Random Acts of Kindness Day! And it is already 5:00! Find someone random, and BE KIND to them! Okay, so it doesn’t necessarily have to be someone random. We all appreciate kindness.
My family went above and beyond last night. They were all waiting when I got home from work, and they’d decked out the house for a birthday extravaganza. I felt 10 years old, which is a miraculous feeling—Mickey Mouse balloons, Mickey-shaped beignets, Tigger Tails, Disney Churros, Dole Whip—all of our favorite Disneyland treats! They’d been cooking all day! The reason for the theme? My husband had smuggled the Disney Castle in LEGO form home from our trip last month. How he’d kept that a secret, I do not know. He said it was an impulse purchase and he’d worried about it all month, but the whole evening was the random-est and most epic act of kindness for me. Any time a girl is turning fifty-something, feeling 10 years old is the best gift ever!
Thank you, family of mine! I love you to infinity and beyond! It’s my youngest grand-daughter’s first birthday today. I believe it’s my turn to reach out to someone else and make them smile like a kid.
