Day 310: The definition of ruminate is “to think deeply about something.” It’s one of my favorite words. I used it yesterday when speaking of Guy Fawkes Day. It’s a useful word. It comes in handy. I like it so much it’s even a category on The Jotter. Aren’t there times you simply need to ruminate upon a topic?
Today is Election Day. If ever there was a day for rumination, this is it! The right to vote was hard-fought and hard-won by the determined and dedicated people who came before us. They paved the way to the polls. My mother never let me forget that not all of us have always had the right to mark our own ballot. They gave us a voice. A vote. Let’s not take that for granted.
