Day 302: Last week was Weird Tips Week, so it only makes sense that Halloween week would be Weirder Tips Week!
Mom loved red—all year long, not just at Valentines Day or Christmas or July 4th. She loved wearing red, including a big lapel pin of a sprig of cherries.
She also believed that every room needed a splash of red. She had a wind chime made of ceramic red apples that hung on the back porch inside the back door, so that whenever someone came in, the wind chime would catch the breeze. There were small pops of red here and there, because she thought it was cheerful and lively.
When I look around my home, I look for splashes of red, because they remind me of her. Right now, with Halloween decor overtaking the house, there is an over-abundance of red, which isn’t really what she meant when she taught me this weirder tip, but it reminds me of her, anyway.
