Day 252

The September Buzz. The students tussle. The teachers hustle. The leaves rustle. The movers muscle. The planners bustle. Can you hear the buzz?

Day 252: The September Buzz...the planners bustle.

The planners of the world are planning ahead. They have decorated for Fall. They have hung their autumnal wreath on the front door and covered their porches with straw bales and home-grown pumpkins. They are burning pumpkin spice candles. Their Halloween costumes are ready to go. They’ve purchased sugar-free trick-or-treat treats that are so adorable, no one will notice the missing sugar. They’ve planned the entire Thanksgiving menu. They know they have 106 days until Christmas, which they find exciting, because their shopping list is complete. They’ve scheduled their Christmas card photographer. They’ve ordered their new calendars. They’ve already reviewed their old New Year’s resolutions and are ready to go on January 1 with the new and improved ones.

I know this, because my mother was a planner, and I want to be a planner, but I really only ever plan to be a planner. I never actually get to the point where I can say I’ve accomplished it.

Planners. Their bustling makes me tired. And guilt ridden. Stop it, planners, that’s enough bustling for one year. No more buzz out of you. The rest of the year will occur at my pace, and if that pace is hare-like one day, and tortoise-like the next, that’s okay. Maybe I planned it that way. #momscompanytowels #theplannersbustle #maybeiplanneditthatway
