Day 167

Day 167: What a Smatterday for our Week of Dad! A reunion of Longhursts, celebrating my husband’s parents’ posterity, a tour of his farm, and stops at cemeteries to take flowers to both of our dads for Father’s Day.

The day drew an interesting comparison for me. And a confirmation of my belief that death is not the end, for two reasons.

First: It is not the end because our people carry on, having reunions where our favorite recipes are shared and the interesting facts of our lives are turned into trivia games and our grandkids play games in the park.

Second: While I get great comfort from visiting the graves of my family, I am certain that those loved ones aren’t hanging around at the cemetery. I feel they move on to holier spheres and are busily engaged in heavenly endeavors. Therefore, it is not even close to the end.

Even though I miss our dads, I see them moving onward, in posterity AND in spirit. Happy Father’s Day, Dads! #MomsCompanyTowels #WeekOfDad #NotTheEnd
