Day 124

Day 124: May the fourth be with you! Nope. I don’t have a lisp. It’s May 4th, also known as Star Wars Day . . . you know . . . because it sounds like “May the force be with you.”

I’m thinking about our home today, and the future of its inhabitants - maybe not “a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away” but perhaps in the weeks and months to come. Today marks our two-week countdown to our last child’s wedding. Her future is looking bright! And mine is looking hectic! We also have the blessing of having our granddaughter, Claire, hang out with us for a few days while her mama and daddy are in Europe.

This old house has housed its share of generations in its 120 years. Claire’s mom was named after my mom. And my mom, I am absolutely certain, is watching her posterity closely and with all the love heaven can hold. I don’t know if you can read the back of Claire’s shirt, but it says “Our Future.” Isn’t that the truth?
