Before I jump into today, I have to share that I aged quite considerably yesterday. I mentioned that I didn't get the memo about wearing pajamas to work. Do you know what a memo is? Because I had several people ask me if I spelled meme wrong. I guess I didn't get the meme either! To hide my advancing age, I should have captioned it "I didn't get the DM, did you?" Or perhaps, "Snapchat was down." For the youngsters, memo is short for memorandum, memoranda in plural. Memos were the common way to send a short message, which was usually typed or handwritten and sent to another office through interoffice mail. And no, I didn't ride my dinosaur to deliver said memos.
Today is National Haiku Day! Did you ever have to write a Japanese Haiku in school? The shortest and most easily accomplished poetry form, it is only three lines. The first has 5 syllables. The second, 7. And the third line returns to 5. Because I am not seeing EYE TO EYE with our crazy weather in Utah, this is my Haiku for the day:
The sky can't decide
Which weather to wear today.
Snowfall or sunshine?
I'd send it to you in a memo, but I'd have to scrape the snow off my dinosaur.
